The Assize is a court of manners as well as of logic. Play fair, do your own ink, and the Ledger will remember you kindly.

ASSIZE is free to play. You may install and play it on your personal devices. You may not copy, redistribute, decompile, reverse-engineer, or run the asset pipeline outside its intended use. Characters, text, and art are proprietary.
Guest play requires no email or password. A recovery code restores server-known progress on another device. Losing the code is not recoverable. If payments ever ship, they will be tied to the same guest identity and subject to these terms.
Ranked and daily modes exist to measure clerks against each other. Using solver software, injection tools, modified clients or automation to submit moves is prohibited and detectable to a degree. We apply speed, uniformity and plausibility sanity checks and shadow-queue suspicious results. Repeated or flagrant abuse results in exclusion from leaderboards and ranked queues. The honest framing, from the design itself: a solver feeding moves at human pace is undetectable. We would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.
Friend and ranked duels are unruly only in ink. Do not harass opponents, spam friend codes, share exploits, or attempt to desynchronise a duel. Reports are welcome.
Standing, streaks and daily results live on our servers and are authoritative. Ink awards are verified against server duel logs — replayed, foreign or unverifiable claims are dropped without credit — and Standing is computed server-side from logged duels. Leaderboard entries may be pruned or corrected when evidence of cheating or a bug exists.
Recorded duels and chits carry gameplay only. The privacy pass redacts names at both export and import, so a chit cannot be used to identify or contact another clerk. Do not attempt to circumvent the redaction.
Echo chits, friend codes and recovery codes are short strings. Do not embed abusive, unlawful or harassing text where free-form fields or chit wrappers allow it. You remain responsible for what you send.
The game is provided as-is, with all its bugs and its particular climate. We do not guarantee uptime, leaderboard availability, or that your saved Echoes survive a corrupted device. Back up via recovery code and export/import if your progress matters to you.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the game. These terms do not create any warranty or guarantee of service levels.
We may suspend or restrict access for violations of these terms, abuse of the service, or legal necessity. You may stop playing at any time; client data can be removed by clearing site data.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be dated at the top and, where appropriate, surfaced in-game. Continued play after a change constitutes acceptance.
